Your Hosts Veronica & Jimmy T. would like to Welcome you to The Alpaca Ranch at Cobb Creek Cabins. When you enter the “office” you will step back in time as you stand surrounded by the original two story log cabin that was built in 1861 by John Franklin Cobb the paternal Grandfather to baseball great Ty Cobb. You will admire hand-honed beams and the original stone and clay fireplace and chimney.

Walking along Cobb Creek you will come upon a stone-wall memorial surrounding the artesian well once used to “keep” the family food. The stone-wall has plaques inlayed commemorating the Cobb Family, the Estate and Tyrus R. Cobb World Baseball Champion. Ty used to work the farm here in the summers and played his first ball games with the Murphy Maulers. You will also find the original 1861 Smokehouse, once dirt floor and flat roof, now converted into a most comfortable cozy and truly authentic log cabin. We feel so lucky to have found this glorious homestead and in such a lovely area. Here we are surrounded by a million acres of National Forests and still only one mile north of GA and 15 miles east of TN. Within about two hours you can visit Asheville, Knoxville, Chattanooga or Atlanta.

We strive to make your visit one you will always remember and hopefully will wish to return again and again. Our guests are the best part. We are fortunate to meet so many wonderful people and we hope to be meeting you soon as well.

Very Truly, your hosts
